PL: Pani April 2010: La Traviata by Deborah Turbeville

I had to check the photographer's name a million times before I believed it was indeed Deborah who shot the ed herself. What's so surprising? If you don't consider a few simple facts, you can't really know what I mean. For a magazine that has often wonderful editorials, but made mostly by the same photographers, it's not that obvious to change anything drastically. But something has changed since the great Deborah Trubeville's ed (she has probably never heard of that magazine) is featured in the newest issue of Pani. The story is based on 'La Traviata' directed by Mariusz Trelinski and most of the clothes is by Gosia Baczynska and Tomasz Ossolinski, original authors of costumes from the opera.

Model comebacks always seem to make the fashion industry more predictable. And even if it's not predictable at all, those moments make you think that black is not always only black. Zuzanna Buchwald is one of those Polish models that made it really big in the past. She was a Miuccia Prada girl after all. So here she goes again, in a simple, 'local' editorial, but making it look chic. This is how it's done!

Yes, a big surprise to see Charlotte (Model Plus) shining. But wait a second: isn't that true that we all expected it to happen? After changing the hair colour (that new blonde sometimes turns into red, like this time), she'll surely storm the fashion world. Right now Poland & Greece need her. And I definitely need to see more as - in my opinion- Charlotte is the most promising young model (she's 17) in here. Just rock it, my dear!

Here's all I found in my mags. I thought I've seen more versions of this ad, will try to find it for sure (Edit: just added). Just one more thing: the hair. At first I was terrified because of the color and a range that Dior ads normally have. Just after some time, I realised that blonde worked that time. Thanks to Jessica and Craig!

Resort collections have never been so popular. Just a few years ago people- except rare stars- didn't really need them or didn't even feel like they were important for fashion. Right now both designers and buyers, know that fashion means money. If you design more, you get more, so why not showing collections more often? The reason of why I appreciate resort collections is that in my opinion they're so nicely wearable and fresh that it makes me think that fashion is for people. Plus, I always wonder when I'll be able to afford my favourite dresses because I know one day I will :)

That's one of my favourite issues of Vogue ever. From the cover to the last page: I love everything about it. If you liked Tom Ford for YSL Fall 2004's collection, you'll enjoy that issue- dedicated to Asian fashion- for sure. And it was not the first time when Ford was into East, just think of his old collections for Gucci- s/s 2003 one for example. Stunning.

It's good to see that Viva!Moda is doing better. I've recently missed those old versions of the mag when it had Alicja Kowalska, Filip Niedenthal & Piotr Zachara- a truly magical trio in my opinion , but this is a surprise.

It's like old good times are back! Even if Anja wasn't my first favourite model, she soon became the one for me. While she's working for the biggest names in the fashion industry right now (Example? She's just appeared on the cover of Australian Magazine, Russh. Her list of spring/summer 2008 campaigns is really impressive: Chloe fragrance (with Chloë Sevigny and Clemence Poesy) Gap, H&M, Oscar de la Renta. We'll have to wait for more), I like her old works. Anja in 2001 was a brown haired girl who used to live in Paris and work a lot. Here we go.
